We are considering going to Ethiopia for a couple of school age boys. Best friends. They are old enough to know what adoption is, and they know they're the only kids in the orphanage who don't yet have families coming for them.
Are we crazy?

Lory, I was a boy mom for years, and now look. I bet you could do it, and do it beautifully. Your big girls are so mature and at the perfect age for brothers! Would love to hear the story about the boys. Definitely a huge decision.
You are crazy! Just like a lot of us are. Once you grasp the number of orphans and see their faces up close, it is hard to turn your back. Many won't even take the time to ponder 145 million orphans because then their hearts will follow. I will be praying for your family.

No you are NOT crazy! I know I have photos of these boys from our trip last month. I remember one of the boys vividly! He is amazing, gorgeous smile, friendly, smart, engaging, and I am sure his best friend is as INCREDIBLE as he is! I am so excited for your family, especially for these boys! Go for it girl, balance out the estrogen in that house with a little testosterone! Let me know if you want photos! YEAH GOD!!!

Aren't we all pretty crazy? Crazy, but having so much fun!!! These boys have been in my thoughts and prayers since we left Ethiopia last month. They are both so sweet. I hope you go for it! The boys are wonderful and will be a great addition to your family!! I have some photos of them too. Please keep us all posted. Many blessings to your family during this crazy adventure.
